Hey! First and foremost, thanks much for not only checking out Me.dium, but also taking the time to give your feedback. Much appreciated!

Me.dium’s Social Search builds its search indexes as people surf the web. As people visit a site, and spend time and attention on it, the site gets ranked higher within seconds. As a result, when you enter a search term, the Me.dium Search results are sorted and presented based on what people are actually looking at in relation to your search term – in essence, where the crowds are online and what they’ve found relevant and useful in relation to your search term.

By installing the Me.dium Social toolbar (http://me.dium.com), you are helping to influence search results. The more people we have contributing to search, the wider-spread our results will be. However, we also leverage the Yahoo! Search BOSS™ open web services platform so the result is crowd-powered information on top of traditional search.

Again, thanks for your feedback! Feel free to email me with any questions: Jboyle@me.dium.com Take care!
